Homework
When students, teachers, and families work together, skills will become stronger and learning more efficient. Please make reading a priority at home. I will be sending home word attack practice, vocabulary review, and comprehension assignments. If there is no specific homework, 20 to 30 minutes of reading time is perfect. Reading to your child, or asking your child to read to you, and pausing to summarize and ask questions about what has been read, are excellent ways to build and strengthen “reading muscles.” (On the other hand, please don't over-do by spending too much time or making it a chore. Stress will only ruin the experience! )
